Here are a few more links to look into courtesy of Wrestling-News.com. They've got a radio show called The Minority Report that you can download (they warn there is a lot of adult language, I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet). Also, if you scroll down on their main page you can see their take on the situation (the article is called Ripping The Sean O'Haire 'Followup Article'; SC Newspaper Attempts To Diminish Severity Of A Crime). I don't have any news other than what I read online since I have no direct ties to O'Haire or anyone who knows him personally.

Musashi has advanced to the last bout of the World GP Finals two years in a row, and here Japan's best K-1 fighter will go toe-to-toe with legendary American pro wrestler turned contact fighter Sean O'Haire in a K-1 Rules bout.
Said Musashi: "It's my first Dynamite fight, and Osaka is my hometown, so I will do everything to please my fans here." Replied O'Haire: "I have a great deal of respect for Musashi, but this is a fight. I promise to bring two things to the ring tomorrow -- viciousness and entertainment!"

- 12.28.04 -- Wrestling Observer is still reporting that O'Haire will face Musashi at K1 Dynamite show 12.31.04
- 12.24.04 -- MERRY CHRISTMAS to all those who celebrate.
- According to the Wrestling Observer, O'Haire has signed a long term contract with K1, and will appear on their New Year's Eve show Premium 2004 Dynamite at the Osaka Dome.
Musashi vs. Sean O'Haire This would be a kickboxing match. Before O'Haire was named as the opponent, we were told they were looking for someone who wouldn't be considered a threat, as they simply want Musashi to get an impressive win on the most high profile night of the year. O'Haire is an aggressive fighter and has a genuine mean streak, but has never fought a kickboxing match in his life, so from a technique standpoint is at a huge disadvantage. He'll go in with a 40 pound weight edge and will likely try to run over Musashi, but if Musashi can keep his distance, it should be a long night for O'Haire. O'Haire has signed a long-term K1 contract because they like his look, and will probably fight more after this under MMA rules. K-1 has also talked of opening up a pro wrestling promotion so he'd fit in there as well.
Those are the opinions of the Observer. O'Haire has trained in Muay Thai, which is a form of kickboxing.

- 11.29.04 -- Wrestling Observer newsletter had lots of positive things to say about O'Haire's showing at Rumble on the Rock.
Many felt it was pro wrestler Sean O'Haire who stole the show. O'Haire, in his second MMA fight, came out swinging and Oyama was finished in 31 seconds, which is faster than either Wanderlei Silva or Mirko Cro Cop beat Oyama. It was a great big show debut, and Kazuyoshi Ishii was said to have been thrilled with a guy with that size and look, plus the pro wrestling background, coming through the way he did, and he's expected to sign a multi-fight contract with K-1.
They also reported that O'Haire is rumored to make his Japanese MMA debut at the K-1 Osaka Dome show on 12/31.

State Athletic Commission that would cover the regulation of MMA.

O'Haire was close to having a deal to do a kickboxing match on the 8/7 K-1 show in Las Vegas against Akebono, but it looks to have fallen through.
They also mention the Ballpark Brawl match: First they were told that TNA would not allow Abyss to do any jobs on indie shows. Then, O'Haire claimed that his Japanese promotion (of which he doesn't even have) won't allow him to do any jobs in the U.S. So they ran everyone in and didn't have a finish.
